Recreational Mixed Division: Novice to Intermediate Players
Game Nights: Wednesday and Sunday

The focus of the Recreational Division is the skill development of Novice and Intermediate players through a more relaxed, positive and social atmosphere.

Each team will get 10 games + playoffs, 1 half-ice team practice during the first week of the season to help us assess skill levels, and can sign up for two opt-in skill camps spaced evenly throughout the season. This division will have coaches on the bench.

Competitive Mixed Division: Intermediate to Advanced Players
Game Nights: Thursday and Sunday
Players in the Competitive Division are more experienced players looking for a challenge. Focus is still on skill development and mentoring, but the games will be faster.

Each team will get 12 games + playoffs. Intermediate players can expect to be challenged by the higher level of play, but still able to compete as part of the team. Advanced players will be challenged to be a team leader, mentor for intermediate players and a good opponent.

DWHL GOOGLE GROUP
Stay up to date with important messages and events with the new DWHL Google Group

We've had some issues with overly aggressive spam filtering, so we created this group as another avenue to ensure important messages and notifications are getting distributed.

The Google Group invites were sent out at the beginning of September, so if your invite has expired, just click here to request membership!

Missing Emails?
We've had some issues with our emails being flagged as spam lately (especially with Gmail), so please be sure to check your spam folder regularly!

You'll also want to add these email addresses to your contacts: reminder@denver.interactiveschedules.com and automailer@denver.interactiveschedules.com

If you're using an email address from your place of employment and our email is being flagged as spam, you might need to get in touch with your company's IT department and get instructions on whitelisting our email address.

Also, be sure to check your message settings after logging into the DWHL website under My Profile -> Message Options and be sure the top option for Opt Out isn't turned on.

PUNCH CARDS Updated Policy!
We've made some changes with how we're handling punch cards, so please read on!

If you plan on subbing with DWHL during the Fall Season, now is a good time to get a DWHL punch card!

Punch cards can be used for Games, Practices, and Drop-ins. If you are subbing for the Fall Season you can sub-up with your punch card as well (see subbing policy).

Punch cards never expire; If you don't use all of your punches this season, they will carry over.

We will now be sending out invoices via email to subs who play in a different division than they are rostered for or if they are registered as sub only. This means you will not need to bring cash or check to the rink!

We will no longer be issuing physical punch cards. Our Treasurer, Kim, will be tracking it on a spreadsheet. If you sub, she will first check to see if you have a punch card and if not, she will send you an invoice.

When you have one punch left, you will get an email letting you know that you are almost out of punches. This means you don't have to worry about losing your punch card!

ACTION: If you have a physical card, please take a picture of it of and email it to Kim ASAP. She will add any punches you have left to the spreadsheet. Next season, we will not be signing off on punch cards.

SUBBING WITH DWHL
If you're registered and rostered for the regular season, you can sign up to sub for other teams within your division, free of charge and the DWHL readily encourages members to sub on their off nights. We are also encouraging all players to use the DWHL website to notify their team and coaches when they will miss a scheduled game.

We're now allowing 13 players on a bench, so once a team has 3 people sign out for a particular game, subs will be allowed to sign up, up to 13 players. An email will go out 24 hours before a game where spares (subs) are needed and the sub sign up has opened.

If you'd like to sub for a team within your division (e.g.: You're rostered on a team in the Fall Recreational division and you'd like to sub on a night when your team isn't playing), the first thing you'll need to do is log into the DWHL website, find the game in the schedule, and click the Player Sign Up button near the bottom left of the screen.

Since we do not require the use of the website, signing up via the website does not guarantee a sub spot, so you will want to arrive at the rink roughly 45 minutes before game time and check in with the coordinators in order to secure a spot.

When we all work to use the website, it is easier to determine if you will get a sub spot on a given night, even before you leave your home. This will be especially helpful for those players who live a great distance from the rink. It has been working well the last several seasons, so we are optimistic that if you are all conscientious about using the site, we will rarely turn away subs and will get more people out to sub.

NOTE: We've had issues with automailer/reminder email going to spam, so you shouldn't rely solely on email notification if you want to sign up to sub!

If there is a game night where your team isn't playing and you'd like to sub, just log into the DWHL website 24 hours before that game and you can see how many players have signed out and if the sub sign up has opened yet.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at info@dwhl.org
