What is Hockey 101?
If you are interested in playing ice hockey with the Denver Women's Hockey League, then Hockey 101 is for you. Hockey 101 is a safe and fun way to learn the basics of ice hockey and get out on the ice.
We will start at 7:00pm with DWHL coaches going over the basics of ice hockey. We will then move into the locker rooms at 7:30pm to put on gear. If you've never put on hockey gear, we will show you how to put your gear on and answer any questions about ice hockey gear. At 8:00pm we will head out to the ice and go over basic ice hockey skills like skating, stick-handling, passing and shooting. At 8:50 we will have a 10 minute half-ice scrimmage. At 9pm we will head back to the locker rooms to take off our gear.
If you need to borrow gear, we have gear available free of charge for this event. Email us at email@example.com with your approximate height and weight if you would like to borrow gear. Gear requests will be accepted until 12pm on May 21. Any requests made after the cutoff time cannot be accommodated. If you need to borrow skates, they can be rented at the rink when you arrive at the event.
